As much as I love writing SQL, I can’t imagine it will exist (at least in the way it used to exist before agentic coding tools took over) in the same fashion in the coming years. But, I’ve seen how agentic coding platforms can be a super powerful partner or a copilot.
As you go about doing your job as an Analytics Engineer, not all data transformation is about you simply writing SQL. That in fact, is probably just a minuscule part of your job.
